ConocoPhillips Business Builder
Over the past six weeks, I participated in a Business Builder training program sponsored by ConocoPhillips. I connected with the instructors through Rotary- two professors from the University of Texas Permian Basin in Midland who traveled to Carlsbad each week to lead the course. They were excellent teachers, and the sessions were hosted at Southeast New Mexico College.
The class was full of incredibly smart, entrepreneurial people. Some of the businesses represented included a yoga therapy practice, an online vintage retailer, a cold plunge + sauna wellness center, a mobile RV service, an Airbnb designed for outdoor enthusiasts, and a charcuterie catering business, just to name a few. It was inspiring to learn alongside so many diverse and passionate business owners, and I loved getting to exchange ideas and support one another.
My personal goal for the program was to refine my messaging around my artwork and how it intersects with my work as a professional home organizer. Throughout the training, I dug into market research, clarified how I talk about my art, and explored new avenues for selling it. As part of this process, I took a research trip to Santa Fe to study galleries, and I also discovered the magical town of Madrid just outside Santa Fe. There, I met an artist whose journey felt like I was meeting a future version of myself—an incredibly validating moment.
Our final assignment was to deliver a 90-second pitch to the class and a panel of community members. Here’s the pitch I shared:
Hi, I’m Jean Prominski, a fine artist and a professional home organizer.
I create glass and mixed-media artwork inspired by Chihuahuan Desert animals and research on how water responds to intention.
I believe art can do more than decorate a wall, it can shift how a room functions. Many people feel overwhelmed or energetically drained at home, and I’ve seen how the right artwork can bring grounding, clarity, and emotional ease to a space. With my background in home organizing and energy work, I approach art intentionally: each piece is designed to bring harmony, openness, and “breathing room” to a space. My collectors often tell me my work helps them feel calmer and more inspired in their homes.
A lot of décor is just stuff added to a room, it doesn’t change the atmosphere. My art helps people transform stagnant or chaotic spaces into environments that genuinely support them, whether they want peace, vibrancy, grounding, or flow.
I serve homeowners, collectors, healing studios, wellness practitioners, and anyone who wants their space to feel more aligned, intentional, and uplifting.
You can purchase my work at the Artist Gallery in Carlsbad, at local markets and events, or online at JeanProminski.com. I’d love to help you bring more harmony, beauty, and grounded energy into your home through intentional art.
This program helped me clarify not just how I talk about my art, but why I create it. I’d love to hear what resonates with you, whether you’re drawn to the organizing connection, the spiritual and energetic aspect, or the desert animal inspiration. Your feedback helps me continue refining my message and offerings, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or send me a message!
